Stan began his music career by playing in several bands in the music program at St Helens Sr. High. He then studied music at the University of Oregon before joining the Bunco Blues Band in 1973 as trombone, drums, latin percussion, and vocals specialist. Stan has played with Joe Morello of the Dave Brubeck Quartet, Be-bop sax man Bishop Norman Williams, jazz guitar phenom Bruce Forman, and in the first two Waterfront Blues Festivals. He joined Liquid Blues in 1981 playing trombone, vocal, and latin percussion. When Liquid Blues was re-formed in 1982 after a small shake-up, he became the full time drummer. He lives in Boring, OR, with his wife and two daughters. His current hobby is as a letter carrier at Troutdale Post Office, as long as it doesn't infringe on his Liquid Blues duties! |
